Overview of plotter and printer supported by GRAFIS (Version 6 and higher)
All printer and plotter with Windows drivers can be used with GRAFIS Version 6 and higher. Notes on installation and setup for these devices can be obtained from the printer / plotter manuals.
Furthermore, the following plotter are supported, directly:
HPGL compatible plotters
- all Hewlett Packard Plotter (e.g. HP747x, HP7550, HP DesignJet series etc.)
- Encad Cadjet2 and T-200
- Algotex-Plotter (Projet, Classicjet, Streamjet, Windjet, Wavejet, Powerjet)
- GammaTech-Plotter (Flyjet)
- Wild-Plotter TA30, TA40, TA400, TA500
- Zünd-Plotter
- Gerber-Plotter AP300 series and AP700 (only with special software!), Gerber Infinity II
- Mutoh-Plotter (HP compatible)
non-HPGL compatible plotters
- DM/PL-compatible Plotter, e.g. devices by Ioline (e.g. Ioline Summit 2200)
- Houston-Instruments Plotter (DM/PL-compatible)
- Wild TA10
If your device is not listed you should obtain the following information:
- Are Windows drivers available for the plotter/printer? If yes, it should be installed as a Windows printer.
- Is the plotter HPGL compatible (can it process HPGL language)? If yes, the plotter can be controlled as an HPGL plotter.
- Is the plotter compatible with any of the devices listed above? If yes, it can possibly be controlled with the relevant driver file.
If the answer to all questions is NO, a new plotter driver is required for the device. This can only be generated by experienced specialists. Basis for generation of the plotter driver file is a plotter handbook which can be obtained directly from the dealer or manufacturer in most cases.
Note for schools:
Not every workstation needs a printer. One printer per class room is sufficient!
